Welcome!

FUNDRAISING: JUST BEGINNING
MOOD: BLIND OPTIMISM

It started with a bit of daydreaming and brainstorming amongst friends, an adventure, a different way to help my charity of choice. Now suddenly, after only just moving to Victoria, I find myself registered, deemed medically fit and with my first ever cycling jersey in the mail - I’m very excited to finally begin!

I say this is my first ever jersey as my other cycling adventures have included getting sunburnt peddling on a Bali beach, having to stop to let a snake cross my path in Hong Kong and joining a day tour in Munich which involved stopping repeatedly at beer gardens…and then getting back on the bike. No such adventures required a jersey (or in most cases a helmet...).

So this will be a real challenge. I’m healthy and reasonably fit but will need some training – personal training probably! So far, have been for morning walks and joined a gym, been to three hour-long rpm cycle classes and a stretch class so far during the past week, will try and build up the stamina from there. I will of course need to get a bike too (minor detail), and hit the road.

My friend Lisa (from Perth) has also signed up for the challenge – can’t wait to see her there!

For those of you in Melbourne I’ll be carrying around chocolates fairly soon (and distributing them at work and to anyone who’ll sell them for me!), as a chocolate drive will be the first of my fundraising events.

Starting small, other events, ideas and updates to follow!
