A bit of an update - it's getting close!

FUNDRAISING: Nearly $3000! Not bad for a newbie in the big city!
MOOD: Excited!

Well, I'm excited that I've gathered $2700 or thereabouts towards the fundraising target. Still a way to go until I hit target so if you still want to donate, there's plenty of time! Donations can be given online via www.oxfam.org.au/challenge until 3 months after I return from the ride and even the smallest amount makes a difference. Still, if I don't get there it has been great to have so much support and I'm pretty happy with the way it's gone.

In recent times I have also gained a bit of confidence with the riding aspect of the trip (quite, um, a significant aspect). The Oxfam info says "train in humid conditions if possible" Well that hasn't been possible but how about a coastal headwind on a wild Melbourne day? Surely that counts for something!

It's down to business now, paying a lump sum deposit next week and the time is here to think about vaccinations, insurance and visas.

Big thank you's to those who have listened to me rave on about the ride, and given support. Special thanks this time around to Tom (and his family) for actually getting my butt on the bike, to Anna, Lauren and Megs the tupperware enthusiasts and Jeannie for reminding me the gym is my friend!

And to everyone that has been buying chocolates - thanks, otherwise I would have been eating them all!

Til next time...
